Fasting In The Special Month Of Ramadan

(In the Name of Allah (SWT), Most Gracious, Most Merciful, all praise and thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the Realms and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger (SAWS) and upon all his family and companions)

Allah (SWT) The Almighty The Forgiving The Merciful, says, “You who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you..” to His words “The month of Ramadan is the one in which the Qur’an was sent down as guidance for mankind, with Clear Signs containing guidance and discrimination. Any of you who are resident for the month should fast it. But any of you who are ill or on a journey should fast a number of other days.” (W2:182-184; H2:183-185) 217. Chapter.

This clarifies any ambiguities and tells us that, Why Fasting Is A Compulsion On All Believers and how does it render to help us by providing all the right resources to acquire appropriate understanding of the belief and its ultimate rewards ensure to the believers.

Abu Hurayra 1215. reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “Allah, the Mighty and Exalted said, ‘Every action of the son of Adam is for himself except for fasting. It is Mine and I repay it.’ Fasting is a shield. When someone is fasting, he should not have sexual relations nor quarrel.”

“If someone fights him or insults him, he should say, ‘I am fasting’. By the One in whose hand the self of Muhammad is, the changed breath in the mouth of the faster is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk. The faster experiences two joys: when he breaks his fast he rejoices and when he meets his Lord he rejoices in his fasting.” [Agreed upon]

Let’s make this Ramadan special and make it count as this is the Month of blessings and mercy and forgiveness and this is why the blessings are doubled in this month.

Fasting Month & Benefits of ITIKAF

(In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, all praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger)

Fasting Month is blessed upon the mankind every year and how lucky we are as Muslims to experience the divine blessings in Ramadan which comes as the hope for every Muslim to make the most out of it and this is where we are gifted the option of ITIKAF, which is to be performed by staying in a Mosque.

It is the one of its kind opportunity in the special fasting month where one stays at Mosque and indulge oneself for the supreme submission to our Creator, The One & Only, Allah (SWT). Islam has prescribed the act of ITIKAF as a Mustahabb (Recommended) and this is where Imam Ahmed Said: I have not heard from any of the scholars that it is anything other than Sunnah”.

in addition we can refer to Az-Zuhri  who said: “How strange the Muslims are! They have given up I’tikaf, despite the fact that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, never abandoned this practice from the time he came to Madinah until his death.”

Thus we come across with a clear understanding that The Bond Between ITIKAF & FASTING is there for centuries and the entire benefits which we are told still does not equals to the level of true understanding and this is where we are to understand and worship our Lord, ALLAH (SWT) from the purity of our hearts.

As our Beloved Prophet (SAWS) said: “In the body there is an organ which if it is sound, the entire body will be sound, and if it is corrupt, the entire body will be corrupt. That organ is the heart.” (Al-Bukhaari and Muslim)
